Vitacost Order #3

A post where I share what I recently purchased on and why!

Desert Essence Whitening Plus Toothpaste – This toothpaste was nice, but the downside for me was the cool mint flavor was almost overpowering.  It’s easily one of the strongest mint toothpastes I’ve tried.  For that reason, I can’t bring myself to repurchase, although we did use up all of this tube.

Dr Tungs Smart Floss® Natural Cardamom

Dr. Tung’s Smart Floss – A frequent repurchase, this is the only floss I’ve used for about two years.  It just gets my teeth cleaner than any other floss I’ve tried.

Garden of Life Organic Kids Probiotics – Another product I’ve purchased over and over.  My daughter doesn’t love the chalky consistency, but she will take it every morning out of routine.  I actually take this as my probiotic as well.  The quality is very good and I like for us both to take a daily probiotic.

Source of Life Animal Parade Multi-Vitamin Gummies – I’m constantly trying to find a high quality gummy vitamin my daughter actually likes.  She greatly dislikes chalky chewables so I try to find decent gummy vitamins.  These are a pass.  We are still using them up, but she doesn’t like them.  I have to agree – they have a strong “medicine” type of smell and taste about the same.  I won’t repurchase.

Now Ultra B-12 Liquid – A solid B-12 supplement that is good to always have around.  My husband, who eats some meat, even likes taking this in the morning for an extra boost.

Natracare Baby Wipes – I always keep baby wipes in the car for sticky faces and hands.  This particular brand has some oils added into the wipes, so they are less drying than some other brands.

Honest Company Conditioning Detangler – Another staple in our house.  This is easily my favorite natural leave-in conditioning spray I’ve tried, and that includes some high-end leave-in conditioners.  The vanilla orange scent is light and fresh and it moisturizes my hair and my daughter’s without weighing it down or looking greasy.

Honest Multi-Surface Cleaner – Maybe this is a product that is easy to DIY, but it’s convenient to add it to my Vitacost cart when I run out.  It’s what I use for cleaning countertops and tables because it works and it doesn’t leave a film or streaky residue.

Vitacost Organic Microwave Popcorn – I’m not a huge fan of the microwave popcorn bags, but I pick up these every so often for convenience.  My daughter and I share one occasionally when we watch a movie.  This brand in particular seems to burn quite easily before all the kernels have popped, so I have to be very vigilant when I put it in the microwave or I get burnt popcorn.

My Vitacost Order #1

This is what I bought on my most recent Vitacost order.  Vitacost is a great online shopping site for more natural, eco-friendly, healthy items such as bath/beauty, grocery, vitamins, etc.  They also have free shipping for orders over $49 and great customer service!

[This post is not sponsored, by the way – I purchased everything myself…I just happen to like Vitacost.]

Devita Solar Protective Moisturizer – This is a basic, untinted, unscented SPF 30 broad spectrum sunscreen.  I haven’t used it yet, but I swatched it and it was nice and light and blended into my skin easily.  I plan on using this more in the spring and summer when I’m outside but not wearing makeup.  I will also probably use it on my daughter when she plays outside.  She and I are both very fair skinned.

Oral Care:

Desert Essence Whitening Plus Mouthwash – I finally got my hands on a bottle of this after hearing so many people talking about it.  I really like it – tastes great, doesn’t burn, and even my daughter likes it.

Dr Tungs Smart Floss®

Dr Tungs Smart Floss – The best floss I’ve ever used, no contest.  Amazing.

Eco Dent ExtraBrite Toothpowder – I have been alternating this tooth powder with a toothpaste.  I really have been enjoying this.  I can already see that it has helped to whiten my teeth.  I drink coffee and tea everyday, so I wanted something to help with any stains my teeth might have.

Nature’s Gate Creme de Mint Toothpaste – This is OK….nothing that I would jump to repurchase, but it is nice.

Grocery Items:

Bionaturae Organic Tomato Paste – I use a lot of jarred tomatoes when I cook – I love that this is in a glass jar – which I absolutely prefer of BPA-lined cans.

Coconut Secret Coconut Aminos Sauce – This soy sauce alternative is absolutely delicious!  I wouldn’t mind have several bottles in my house.  The only downside is that it seems to go pretty fast – I’ve almost used an entire bottle by myself in about 2 weeks.  Yikes.

Gin Gins Hard Ginger Candy Double Strength – I love these for times when I have an upset stomach or a bit of nausea.

Nature’s Path Organic Corn Flakes – We love corn flakes with almond milk in our house.  These are yummy and more on the crunchy side.

NOW Foods Organic Non-GMO Popcorn – Corn is one of those foods that I will only buy organic.  My daughter loves popcorn and was super thrilled when she saw that I bought this.

Primal Strips Meatless Vegan Jerky – I bought four flavors of this vegan jerky, but the Hickory Smoked was my favorite.  High in protein, low in calories, and so delicious.  I do try to avoid soy, but I’m glad that the soy used is non-GMO.

Tree Hugger All Natural Bubble Gum – Another treat my daughter always asks for is bubble gum.  Nearly every single brand of gum at a conventional store is filled with nasties that I won’t let my daughter have.  It can be really hard to tell your child “No” all the time to something as simple as bubble gum.  When I saw this natural bubble gum for kids, I was so tickled to find it.  The gum balls are really yummy and the flavors actually hang around for more than 60 seconds.  The next time I order from Vitacost, I’m going to get a few bags.

Products I’ve Used Up: Haircare/Dental Care/Miscellaneous

haircare&miscHaircare and a few random items – this is my 2 cents on some of the all-natural products I’ve used up in the past few months.

Woats Oatsnack in Cookies ‘n’ Dreams – Health food?  Not a chance.  But, if you ever get a real hankering for some chocolate cookie deliciousness without lots of chemicals and processed ingredients, this is a nice once-in-a-while treat.  All-natural ingredients, however it is not vegan.

Iceberg Probiotic Tablets – I really love dropping one of these tablets in my water bottle when I’m at work.  Yummy orange flavor, vitamins and probiotics = happy tummy.

Traditional Medicinals Easy Now (FYI – name has now changed to Cup of Calm) – One of my favorite teas.

Honest Company Fluoride Free Strawberry Blast Kid’s Toothpaste – I bought this for my daughter, but for some reason she didn’t prefer it over other toothpastes.  So…I used it up, and I have to admit I really loved the flavor.  However, I am most likely going to switch over to glycerin-free toothpaste, so I probably won’t repurchase just for that reason.

Kiss My Face Sensitive Toothpaste in Orange Mint Gel – Again, a nice toothpaste, but I want to try out a glycerin-free dental regimen.

Honest Company Dryer Cloths – I used these a lot during the winter when static is the worst.  They really seemed to help, as when I forgot to toss one in the laundry, there was a noticeable difference in the amount of static.  I plan on getting more of these.

Dr. Tung’s Smart Floss – The best floss I have ever used, hands down.  I love to floss because it is the cleanest your teeth can be, in my opinion.  It took a little getting used to, as the texture and feel of this floss is more…”cloth like” in texture, for lack of a better explanation.  You know how typical floss feels slippery and waxy?  Not this.  It is amazing floss, seriously.  Get on this bandwagon!  I will never use another floss unless by some miracle a better one comes along.

Hugo Naturals Coconut Conditioner – I am picky about my haircare.  My hair is very fine, limp, and easily gets weighed down, but the ends are often dry.  This one just wasn’t good for me so I used it to shave.  I always try to use up products in one way or another, even if I don’t like them for their intended use. Waste not, want not.

Honest Company Conditioning Detangler – Another staple that is technically for my daughter, but I love it, too.  It conditions without weighing down our fine hair.

EVOLVh Leave-In Conditioner – This Petit Vour sample was good but the scent was a little strong for my taste.  Still, I used it up.

Desert Essence Organic Green Apple & Ginger Shampoo & Conditioner – I loved these enough to repurchase.  The scent is amazing if you like apple and ginger – and for me, it’s not too overpowering.  Also, they are really affordable for clean shampoo and conditioner.

Deep Steep Weightless Moisture Shampoo – I picked this up on a whim at Whole Foods and while I did use it up, the Deep Steep hair products were way too strongly scented for me – like a heavy perfume.

Deep Steep Daily Repairing Conditioner – I feel the same about this as the shampoo – they worked well enough, but the perfume scent was way too much for me.
