Recent Emptied Natural Products

februaryemptiesRead on for the “eh’s” “oohs” and “aahs” of some of my recent finished all-natural bath and beauty products!

ED4OLO Active Moisture Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil – I’m on my 3rd or 4th bottle of this luxury product.  It is expensive, but 1) I’ve gotten it on sale every time I’ve purchased it, and 2) less expensive cleansing oils just don’t compare for me.  Definitely a product I wholeheartedly love.  The scent, the way it dissolves makeup and yet somehow is completely water soluble…aaah.

Zylicious Xylitol Gum – I picked up this affordable gum at the all-natural health food store I frequent.  It doesn’t contain most of the nasties that conventional gums do, but it contains titanium dioxide (to make it white) which I’m not a fan of.  The taste was great, though.

Pai Rosehip Bioregenerate Oil – This oil has been on my face every single day this winter.  It’s amazing.  Seriously.

Acure Organic Argan Oil – This is purely a staple in our bathroom.  I haven’t used it often this past winter because I’ve needed extra heavy serums and balms.

Blissoma Fresh Mild Rice Cleanser – I loved using the sample of this cleanser.  I would definitely buy a full-size…if I could get it at a great price.  It’s a bit expensive for my taste, but it is very, very nice.

Honest Company Shampoo & Conditioner – These are also staples in our house.  They are the only products I use to wash my daughter’s hair (review coming soon!).

Hurraw! Moon BalmI love Hurraw!  So….that being said, this is my least favorite flavor/scent that I’ve tried.  I wanted to love it, but the flavor is just funky.  I got used to it after a while, but I was never a fan of the smell.

Lotus Wei Infinite Love Energy Mist – One of the most beautiful scents I’ve ever come across.  I was so sad when this bottle was empty.  I haven’t repurchased, but that’s because I really want to purchase the Infinite Love Perfume and just haven’t gotten around to it….yet.

W3LL People Expressionist Bio Extreme Mascara My favorite mascara, maybe ever.  I’m currently comparing a new tube of it to the brand new Lily Lolo mascara…review to come!

Odacite Buriti Lime Serum – This was a sample and I absolutely loved it – the texture, the smell, the way my skin looked in the morning.  Definitely not cheap, but I’d love to buy a full-size in the future.

Gemstone Organic Ylang Ylang Gem Hydrosol – I love GO Cremes…but this hydrosol was just like spritzing water on my face.  It really did nothing for me, and I wasn’t a fan of the scent, either.  I love that they put a piece of crystal in their hydrosols, and I’d be willing to try another scent in the future, but I would not repurchase this one. (At the time of posting this, I don’t see this product available on their website, so I’m not sure if it’s out of stock or discontinued).

Evan Healy Lavender HydroSoul – EH hydrosols are amazing.  The quality is obvious, the fine mist comes out perfectly, and the scents are complex and a pleasure for the senses.  I repurchased an EH hydrosol but in a different scent.

Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator –  A fantastic hydrosol/hydrating toner.  The smell is delicious, the quality fantastic.  I didn’t repurchase this one because it is expensive.  However, the product is stellar and I will probably repurchase this one in the fall/winter.

HollyBeth Organics Chamomile Foaming Cleanser – I already repurchased this, but haven’t been using it.  Instead, the past few weeks, I’ve only been using oils and cleansing balms due to my very sensitive, dry winter skin.  I’ll add this back into my rotation once the weather warms up.

Stark Skincare Neroli Midnight Oil – This was a sample, and I really enjoyed it.  It didn’t knock my socks off, but even with such a small sample, I could tell it was a great serum.  I didn’t love it as much as the Odacite serum, but it was still nice.

Have you used any of these products?  I’d love to hear your thoughts!

My Current All-Natural Evening Skincare Routine

eveningskincaredec14My evening skincare routine is more involved than my morning routine.  Not only do I have makeup to remove, but I think a great time to replenish my skin with good ingredients is while I sleep.  I’m always changing up a few products here and there to find the best products for my skin type.  These are the products I’m currently using.

Elizabeth Dehn for OLO Vitamin B Cleansing Oil – I’ve religiously used this to remove my makeup every night for about 4 or 5 months.  My skin doesn’t like the cold winter weather, and this oil is so soothing and gentle.  It really does melt makeup away, and smells so good.  I really love nice smelling products, and this one is stellar.  I highly prefer removing makeup with this as opposed to balms, which make a greasy mess on my hands and face and make it difficult to remove eye makeup – this oil makes it effortless.

Painted Earth Optimum 15% Vitamin C Face Wash – I’m on the fence about this face wash.  It works…but how well for me?  I still haven’t decided.  After using a few different face washes in the last six months, I think I lean more towards the very gentle and mild cleansers.  My skin just seems happier with them.  I may start adding this back into my routine when spring gets here and my skin is less sensitive.

evanhealy Lavender Facial Tonic HydroSoul – This hydrosol is a complex lavender scent.  When I first smelled it, I was taken aback – it doesn’t smell like traditional lavender to me.  However, the scent has grown on me.  I mist this all over my face after I finishing washing it.  It is so calming and soothing.  I’ve purchased another EH Hydrosoul scent for my next bottle.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil – Even with all the fancy and complex oils and serums out there, this oil is still stellar to me.  Sometimes, simple is best.  I have been reaching for this bottle more lately because whenever my skin is irritated, chapped, or developing a pimple, this oil seems to just make everything better.  It’s fantastic, and I’ve already ordered another bottle.

One Love Organics Love Springs Eternal Serum – I’m on my second bottle of this lovely serum.  It just works really well and I will attribute that in part to the watermelon seed oil.  I have been reaching for this a little less lately, but that’s because my skin has been so sensitive and dry and I’m trying my damnedest to figure out what products make it happiest.

Laurel Eye Balm – This thick, rich eye balm is great – fantastic ingredients, gentle, non-irritating, hydrating.  Before this, I was using the ED OLO Eye Balm which I absolutely love, too.  It’s a toss up between these two eye balms for me – they are both great. (Not to be a tease, but I’ve been using a sample of Laurel’s Healing Balm – oh, my.  It’s my favorite face balm yet. The ingredients are stellar and don’t include coconut oil).

Gemstone Organic Jade Creme – I featured this creme in my current morning skincare routine as well.  I don’t use this every day, just depending upon my mood.  It’s almost empty and if I do buy another of their cremes, it will be the Ruby Creme.

One Love Organics Skin Savior Balm – I purchased this when my skin started freaking out from the winter weather.  I’ve been dealing with irritated, itchy skin with dry patches.  Not fun, let me tell you.  This is another product I don’t use every day.  Its main ingredient is coconut oil, and as there are a lot of people who have experienced skin issues with too much coconut oil use, I’m leery to get too coconut oil crazy.  I do use this when my skin is extra dry or tight and just needs that extra layer of moisture.  Sometimes I use it as a morning facial cleanser as well.  It does make my skin soft.

What products do you recommend for sensitive, dry winter skin?  Do you use any of these products?  What evening skincare products do you love?

My Current All-Natural Morning Skincare Routine

morningskincaredec14I’m still tweaking my winter skincare to find the best solutions for my skin.  Typically, I have slightly oily skin in summer and dry skin in winter.  I’m still researching for the best products that will moisturize, help me retain moisture, but also not irritate or break out my often sensitive skin.  Tall order.  For now, these are the products I’m currently using for morning skincare.

OLO Brand New Day with Manuka Honey – a couple of times a week, I use these two products and apply them as a mask to my face before I hop in the shower.  I’ve mentioned how much I enjoy this mask in a past post.

HollyBeth Organics Chamomile Cleanser – I’ve also been using this in the mornings for a few months now.  This cleanser is great – very affordable, gentle, but still makes my skin feel clean and prepped for other products.

Root Science RS Youth Serum – This serum is so nice – I love the smell, the ingredients are fantastic, and I love the packaging.  It’s pricey, though (I bought this during a sale).  To make this bottle last longer, I’ve only been using this as my morning serum.

Laurel Eye Balm – Another pricey luxury that I picked up during a sale.  At this point in my life, an eye balm is a necessity in winter (and year round, too).  This one is really lovely, but I still cannot decide if I like it better than the ED OLO Active Moisture Vitamin E Eye Balm.  Regardless, this is a truly great eye balm.  It moisturizes so well without irritating my eyes at all.

Blissoma A+ Perfecting Serum – This was a sample and I really enjoy this.  Typically, my skin is in good shape, but I always deal with periods of time where my skin is a bit irritated or has a couple of pimples.  I don’t know how I would feel about its effectiveness if I bought the full-size – I may purchase just to get a better idea of how well I like it.

Gemstone Organic Jade Creme – This stuff is fantastic.  I’m almost out of this thick, moisturizing, fragrant cream. I really want to pick up their Ruby Creme, as it doesn’t contain coconut oil and I’m paranoid that too many products with coconut oil will start to affect my skin.  The Ruby Creme sounds amazing.

Nourish Organic Fresh Fig Body Butter – Possibly my favorite body butter ever.  For me, this scent is heaven.  I am euphoric every time I open this jar to put some on my skin.  It smells so good, that I can’t even put it into words.  And as far as moisturizing, it does a wonderful job.  I usually deal with really dry skin on my shins, but this butter is so good that no matter how cold it is outside, my skin is soft and hydrated. My one tiny gripe is that it does seem to take a little longer to absorb into my skin than other products, but I’ll deal with it. And for the price, this stuff is just phenomenal.

Do you use any of these products?  Do you have any recommendations for products to help deal with sensitive, dry winter skin?

What’s Currently in My Makeup Bag

currentmakeupbagI take this bright pink striped bag with me everyday when I go to work, adding in whatever products or items I think I’ll want during the workday.  It changes everyday, but this is what I took to work with me most recently.

Hurraw! Lip Balm in Chai Spice – I must apply lip balm around a dozen times a day.  I think part of that is habit, part of it is I love the smell, and the other part is that I cannot stand for my lips to be dry.  This scent is so nice for fall.

Beauty Without Cruelty Super Cover Cream Concealer in Fair – This pencil concealer is perfect for touch-ups at work.  It’s not the concealer I use when I apply makeup in the morning, but its so convenient to keep this in my bag for when I’m out of the house.

Oil Blotting Papers (similar) – I always keep these on hand.  I don’t use them as much as I used to, primarily because my skin seems drier this past year.  But these are perfect if I have excess oil or shine on my T-zone.

Comb, Hair Tie, Nail File – These are un-fancy for sure, but I use the comb every day to smooth out my hair.  And nobody wants to get caught with a snagged fingernail and no file.

Gemstone Organic Ylang Ylang Gem Hydrosol – When I first heard of this brand, I jumped over to their website to see their products.  Adorable packaging, fascinating gem information, and wonderful ingredients.  This was my first purchase.  I love that there are little gems actually in the bottom of the hydrosol bottle.  Ylang Ylang is used as an anti-depressant in aromatherapy.  I’ve been using this as a pick-me-up during the workday.  I’ve ordered one of their crèmes and can’t wait to try it out.

Pacifica Devocean Natural Lipstick in XOX – I received this in my Petit Vour box – and I love it!  I’m more of a skincare girl than makeup (though I do love makeup) so I’m glad I received this because otherwise I wouldn’t have bought it.  It smells like delicious coconuts, is hydrating, and the color is a beautiful everyday pink.

Travel Journal (similar) – Ever since I bought this little journal, I’ve been taking it with me in my bag everyday.  I have been struggling with some anxiety, and I also deal with S.A.D. so I’ve found this journal so comforting and soothing when I feel stressed, anxious, or just a bit down.  I’ve been filling the pages with quotes that inspire and comfort me.  I especially like to re-read the quotes that help me manage my anxiety.

Lotus Wei Inner Peace Flower Elixir – Since I purchased this a couple of weeks ago, I’ve put five drops of this sweet flower elixir under my tongue a few times a day, everyday .  It has an immediate and tangible calming effect on me.  Instantly, I feel more relaxed and less anxious.  I won’t leave the house without it now!
