Recent Emptied Natural Products

februaryemptiesRead on for the “eh’s” “oohs” and “aahs” of some of my recent finished all-natural bath and beauty products!

ED4OLO Active Moisture Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil – I’m on my 3rd or 4th bottle of this luxury product.  It is expensive, but 1) I’ve gotten it on sale every time I’ve purchased it, and 2) less expensive cleansing oils just don’t compare for me.  Definitely a product I wholeheartedly love.  The scent, the way it dissolves makeup and yet somehow is completely water soluble…aaah.

Zylicious Xylitol Gum – I picked up this affordable gum at the all-natural health food store I frequent.  It doesn’t contain most of the nasties that conventional gums do, but it contains titanium dioxide (to make it white) which I’m not a fan of.  The taste was great, though.

Pai Rosehip Bioregenerate Oil – This oil has been on my face every single day this winter.  It’s amazing.  Seriously.

Acure Organic Argan Oil – This is purely a staple in our bathroom.  I haven’t used it often this past winter because I’ve needed extra heavy serums and balms.

Blissoma Fresh Mild Rice Cleanser – I loved using the sample of this cleanser.  I would definitely buy a full-size…if I could get it at a great price.  It’s a bit expensive for my taste, but it is very, very nice.

Honest Company Shampoo & Conditioner – These are also staples in our house.  They are the only products I use to wash my daughter’s hair (review coming soon!).

Hurraw! Moon BalmI love Hurraw!  So….that being said, this is my least favorite flavor/scent that I’ve tried.  I wanted to love it, but the flavor is just funky.  I got used to it after a while, but I was never a fan of the smell.

Lotus Wei Infinite Love Energy Mist – One of the most beautiful scents I’ve ever come across.  I was so sad when this bottle was empty.  I haven’t repurchased, but that’s because I really want to purchase the Infinite Love Perfume and just haven’t gotten around to it….yet.

W3LL People Expressionist Bio Extreme Mascara My favorite mascara, maybe ever.  I’m currently comparing a new tube of it to the brand new Lily Lolo mascara…review to come!

Odacite Buriti Lime Serum – This was a sample and I absolutely loved it – the texture, the smell, the way my skin looked in the morning.  Definitely not cheap, but I’d love to buy a full-size in the future.

Gemstone Organic Ylang Ylang Gem Hydrosol – I love GO Cremes…but this hydrosol was just like spritzing water on my face.  It really did nothing for me, and I wasn’t a fan of the scent, either.  I love that they put a piece of crystal in their hydrosols, and I’d be willing to try another scent in the future, but I would not repurchase this one. (At the time of posting this, I don’t see this product available on their website, so I’m not sure if it’s out of stock or discontinued).

Evan Healy Lavender HydroSoul – EH hydrosols are amazing.  The quality is obvious, the fine mist comes out perfectly, and the scents are complex and a pleasure for the senses.  I repurchased an EH hydrosol but in a different scent.

Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator –  A fantastic hydrosol/hydrating toner.  The smell is delicious, the quality fantastic.  I didn’t repurchase this one because it is expensive.  However, the product is stellar and I will probably repurchase this one in the fall/winter.

HollyBeth Organics Chamomile Foaming Cleanser – I already repurchased this, but haven’t been using it.  Instead, the past few weeks, I’ve only been using oils and cleansing balms due to my very sensitive, dry winter skin.  I’ll add this back into my rotation once the weather warms up.

Stark Skincare Neroli Midnight Oil – This was a sample, and I really enjoyed it.  It didn’t knock my socks off, but even with such a small sample, I could tell it was a great serum.  I didn’t love it as much as the Odacite serum, but it was still nice.

Have you used any of these products?  I’d love to hear your thoughts!

My Current All-Natural Evening Skincare Routine

eveningskincaredec14My evening skincare routine is more involved than my morning routine.  Not only do I have makeup to remove, but I think a great time to replenish my skin with good ingredients is while I sleep.  I’m always changing up a few products here and there to find the best products for my skin type.  These are the products I’m currently using.

Elizabeth Dehn for OLO Vitamin B Cleansing Oil – I’ve religiously used this to remove my makeup every night for about 4 or 5 months.  My skin doesn’t like the cold winter weather, and this oil is so soothing and gentle.  It really does melt makeup away, and smells so good.  I really love nice smelling products, and this one is stellar.  I highly prefer removing makeup with this as opposed to balms, which make a greasy mess on my hands and face and make it difficult to remove eye makeup – this oil makes it effortless.

Painted Earth Optimum 15% Vitamin C Face Wash – I’m on the fence about this face wash.  It works…but how well for me?  I still haven’t decided.  After using a few different face washes in the last six months, I think I lean more towards the very gentle and mild cleansers.  My skin just seems happier with them.  I may start adding this back into my routine when spring gets here and my skin is less sensitive.

evanhealy Lavender Facial Tonic HydroSoul – This hydrosol is a complex lavender scent.  When I first smelled it, I was taken aback – it doesn’t smell like traditional lavender to me.  However, the scent has grown on me.  I mist this all over my face after I finishing washing it.  It is so calming and soothing.  I’ve purchased another EH Hydrosoul scent for my next bottle.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil – Even with all the fancy and complex oils and serums out there, this oil is still stellar to me.  Sometimes, simple is best.  I have been reaching for this bottle more lately because whenever my skin is irritated, chapped, or developing a pimple, this oil seems to just make everything better.  It’s fantastic, and I’ve already ordered another bottle.

One Love Organics Love Springs Eternal Serum – I’m on my second bottle of this lovely serum.  It just works really well and I will attribute that in part to the watermelon seed oil.  I have been reaching for this a little less lately, but that’s because my skin has been so sensitive and dry and I’m trying my damnedest to figure out what products make it happiest.

Laurel Eye Balm – This thick, rich eye balm is great – fantastic ingredients, gentle, non-irritating, hydrating.  Before this, I was using the ED OLO Eye Balm which I absolutely love, too.  It’s a toss up between these two eye balms for me – they are both great. (Not to be a tease, but I’ve been using a sample of Laurel’s Healing Balm – oh, my.  It’s my favorite face balm yet. The ingredients are stellar and don’t include coconut oil).

Gemstone Organic Jade Creme – I featured this creme in my current morning skincare routine as well.  I don’t use this every day, just depending upon my mood.  It’s almost empty and if I do buy another of their cremes, it will be the Ruby Creme.

One Love Organics Skin Savior Balm – I purchased this when my skin started freaking out from the winter weather.  I’ve been dealing with irritated, itchy skin with dry patches.  Not fun, let me tell you.  This is another product I don’t use every day.  Its main ingredient is coconut oil, and as there are a lot of people who have experienced skin issues with too much coconut oil use, I’m leery to get too coconut oil crazy.  I do use this when my skin is extra dry or tight and just needs that extra layer of moisture.  Sometimes I use it as a morning facial cleanser as well.  It does make my skin soft.

What products do you recommend for sensitive, dry winter skin?  Do you use any of these products?  What evening skincare products do you love?

My Current All-Natural Evening Skincare Routine

eveningskincareMy nighttime skincare routine is a little more decadent because night is when your skin recovers, so I like to really pamper my skin at night.  It seems like I might have a personal stake in One Love Organics, but it’s somewhat circumstantial that so many of these products are OLO.  Having said that, their products are great.  These are the items that just happen to be in my rotation currently.   Some of these products I will most likely repurchase, others maybe not.

Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil – I absolutely love this product.  It smells like heavenly tropical dessert, literally melts makeup away, and leaves my skin soft!  I have tried a cleansing balm (a highly recommended one to boot) and it just didn’t compare to this for me.  I may give balms another go in the future, but for now I love this.  I apply it to my dry face, massage with water, and wipe away with a muslin face cloth.  I already have a second bottle in my cabinet, waiting to be opened. It’s that good.

One Love Organics Easy Does It Foaming Cleanser –  I have been using this cleanser after I remove my makeup with the Cleansing Oil. It has a very nice, light scent, though I find it very difficult to get it to lather at all.  Although I’ve enjoyed using this cleanser, I won’t repurchase it, just so I can try something else.

Josh Rosebrook Active Enzyme Exfoliator – I’d heard great things about this product so I ordered the smaller size, which is still enough for several uses.  You apply it like a mask and let it set for 10-50 minutes.  I’m only using this once a week at most because of its cost.  It is a very nice mask chock-full of beneficial ingredients.  This is more of an indulgence product.  I haven’t used this enough to form a solid opinion, but so far, so good.

Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator – I mist this over my skin just after I cleanse.  The smell is complex and beautiful….sort of like a spicy vanilla marshmallow.  As it gets colder I may use this product more during the day, but for now I’ve been reserving it for nighttime or when I feel my skin really needs a little something extra during the day.

One Love Organics Love Springs Eternal Serum – I stumbled upon a great deal on this serum and snapped it up.  And I am so glad I did – this serum is fantastic.  There is something really amazing about watermelon seed oil, because my skin has been in better shape since I’ve started using this serum.  I like this for night because it is a bit of a heavier serum.  I think after this, I will always include watermelon seed oil in my skincare – the results have been that great.

Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil – I bought this oil because again, I heard great things about its effectiveness.  This is my first bottle, and I’ve had it nearly four months.  I love this oil for healing irritated skin or blemishes.  And here’s a true story about this stellar oil: two separate times this past summer, my daughter was exposed to too much sun when she wasn’t with me.  She came back home with red cheeks and forehead.  I rubbed some of this oil into her skin at bedtime, and the next morning the redness was completely gone.  That makes me a believer in this potent oil.

Elizabeth Dehn for One Love Organics Vitamin E Active Moisture Eye Balm – This has made me a believer in eye balms.  I cannot believe the difference in an eye cream and a balm.  Balms are amazing for the eyes, especially if you’re over the age of 25.  This completely hydrates my eye area for the entire night.  This was a sample, and I won’t be purchasing at this time because I already have a new eye balm I bought to try.

Silk Pillowcase – I have one similar to this.  I bought one several months ago when I read about how pure silk is good for the skin and helps to prevent creases on the face while you sleep.  I’ll try anything that says it can benefit my skin naturally!  Plus, it is better for your hair, as it doesn’t snag and pull hair the way a cotton pillowcase does. An alternative to this for a vegan would be a nice satin pillowcase.

I would love to know – what nighttime products do you love? Do you enjoy any of these products?  What is your favorite night serum or oil?
